ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1850, Illinois Wesleyan University is a highly selective private university with a total enrollment of 1,900 undergraduate students. Our more than 80 majors, minors and programs range from the traditional liberal arts and sciences to professional and pre-professional programs. Illinois Wesleyan features a School of Nursing, a division of business, and professional schools of music, theatre and art.
Illinois Wesleyan operates on a 4-4-1 academic calendar (two 15-week semesters followed by an optional three-week May Term). Our 80-acre residential campus is located in Bloomington-Normal, one of the fastest growing communities in Illinois with a combined population of more than 130,000, less than two-and-a-half hours from Chicago and St. Louis.
Illinois Wesleyan prides itself on personal attention with an average class size of 17; a tradition of research including the annual John Wesleyan Powell Research Conference; athletic excellence with six Division III national championships; and a four-year graduation rate that is nearly three times the national average.
Our participation in [the] Plan is one more way that we are working to ensure that an Illinois Wesleyan education remains affordable
